By the time the Flight EP came out in 2000, SIDEWINDER’s leftfield, jazz cut-up track ‘Stanways Revenge’ had caused a bit of a storm on the European jazz dance scene. DJs like GROOVE ARMADA and KRUDER & DORFMEISTER had got behind it, and the track was licensed to numerous compilations. The pressure was on for a follow up, and this 5 track EP delivered the goods from the dance floor cut up vibe of the lead track to the atmospheric closing number ‘Plain Song’. Four of the tracks were soon licensed to compilations in the US and Europe via labels like Naked Music and Guidance.
Included here are 7 more previously unreleased tracks, all recorded at the same time as the original EP.

The SIDEWINDER project started around 1997 with an Akai sampler and a pile of second hand records with the idea of making some collage inspired quirky beats from lots of different sources.
A bassline from here, a flute sample from there, a snappy snare drum and some atmospheric noise.
